1) What is telerehabilitation?

Telerehabilitation is the use of information or communication technologies to allow you and your clinician to connect via telephone, video or other remote monitoring technology to receive services at a distance when an in-person visit is not possible.

2) Am I a candidate for telerehab?

The Telerehabilitation information sheet below will help answer these questions for you. If you are unsure, please call to inquire. We will connect you with a clinician who will help determine if this service is right for you.

3) How does it work?

We will be using the Insig Secure Telerehabilitation Platform to deliver this service. When you are ready, you will receive an email or text message requesting you to join the telerehabilitation session via your computer (using the video camera and microphone), tablet or smartphone.

4) How do I book?

We accept appointments via email or phone.

5) How much does it cost?

Please contact the clinic for current fees.

6) Is it covered by insurance?

As of March 27, 2020: Telerehab is covered by SunLife, Manulife, Canada (Great West) Life, Green Shield, Chamber of Commerce and Manitoba Blue Cross. MPI will cover telerehab for new and active claims. WCB Effective March 26 – April 26: New Claims: One initial assessment and up to four subsequent treatments at a frequency of not more than 1x/week. Active Claims: A maximum of one subsequent treatment/week up to four weeks. Phone or video appointments are OK for billing.

7) How do I pay?

We are happy to accept payment via credit card or pre-paid credit card and e-transfer.

8) Can I receive telerehab if I am in another province or country?

No. Both you and your clinician need to be in Manitoba at the time of the telerehabilitation session.

9) I just want to talk to my clinician with a few quick questions. Do I need to book an official session?

If asked to give medical advice, your clinician is offering you the same time, attention, advice and professional guidance that they would during an in-patient session (within certain physical limitations). Your clinician is operating under their professional licensure requirements and cannot provide medical advice unless done so through proper medical, legal channels. If you have specific medical questions for your clinician, please book a telerehabilitation session.
